Help us Stay Afloat

Annual Alumni, Family & Friends Dinner & Silent Auction 2019
In lieu of this year's silent auction (cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns), donations can be made online; search for "Sailing" under Support Area.
The team itself is comprised of active students from WWU's campus. We volunteer over 300 hours each year within our Bellingham community and honor a commitment to environmental stewardship. Our sailors also give back to the sport by teaching youth sailors both locally and state wide, as well as instructing sailing courses for university students at Lakewood, Western's local sailing and watersports venue. We currently have over 40 active members, which is the largest the team has ever been, and have a fleet of 15+ year old boats that we sail on Lake Whatcom. With the success of the last several annual fundraising auctions and with the support of our local community, we were able to purchase 3 new boats to replace those in need of retirement and are hoping to have the same level of success this year. Funds raised also go towards supplementing travel costs to local and national events, keeping costs low for our team members, and towards maintaining our boats. A brand new FJ costs about $7,500 (not including shipping!) and our goal is to raise enough money to continue to replace our aging fleet and to potentially bring on a coach to help our team keep challenging themselves and one another. Our tight knit community is what makes our team so great. We invite you to be a part of it and thank you for your consideration!
We would like to recognize and thank last year's donors for our silent auction event:

The WWU Sailing Team proudly hosts an Annual Alumni, Family, and Friends Dinner and Silent Auction at the end of each spring season. We are always seeking donations from local and regional businesses to be included in our silent auction. The event itself consists of a silent auction and raffle alongside a catered dinner at one of our beautiful local spots in Bellingham, WA. A contribution can be anything from a gift certificate to a donation of product, to a financial contribution. A tax receipt will be provided for your support of our non-profit organization (EIN 91-6073519).
